This photo was taken on a short hike across the “Gasterse Duinen”. A beautiful area that still shows signs of ancient civilizations. Old trails and old tombs called “Hunnebedden” mark the area and landscape. The coldest times of winter had just passed and the warmth of the sun was gaining strength. But the light still had that winter glow to it. It’s hard to describe but it mainly has to do with the fact the light has to travel further through the atmosphere to get to where we live and that gives it a certain glow throughout practically the entire afternoon. I spend about two hours there and took multiple images. This one stood out to me because it perfectly tells the story of the area and the moment that I was there.
