This photo was taken while on a short trip to the Island of Vlieland. My dad stayed there for a couple of days and I decided to join him for a day. There was a storm going on a the time and the ferry had trouble getting into port.
But after being on the island for about an hour, a cup of coffee in the hotel things started to cool down a bit. We decided to go the dunes and beach and that did not disappoint. The sea was still rough, winds were strong and we were treated with an occasional rain shower. But the light, the experience, it was amazing. We walked all the way to about half way up the island and decided to climb to the top of some dunes. I took this photo, and many more, while being on top of the dunes and enjoying the view.
